About the Program
- App Design Boot Camp combines college-level coursework with field trips and social activities to provide you with an exciting and transformative summer experience. You’ll learn what it takes to create your own groundbreaking web application using industry standard technology such as HTML5, CSS and the Meteor Javascript Web Platform! Together with talented teens from around the world, you’ll have the chance to meet professional app developers at companies like Google and FableVision and pitch your apps to them for feedback.
Eligibility Requirements
- • Must have an active membership in a Boys & Girls Club
• Must be a currently enrolled high school student
• Must submit an online application form
• Must complete two short essays
• Must submit transcript (to confirm GPA – unofficial OK)
Grade when applying
- • Rising 10th, 11th or 12th graders
Slots Available
- • 2-5 slots available
Terms of On Campus Summer Experience
- • Scholarship value: $3,000
• Two-week overnight program
• Students selected will be responsible for transportation to and from campus. On-campus housing and meals included. Students should be prepared to bring spending money
